Question 8. How private are these structures (e.g., revocable living trust, limited liability company, limited partnership, etc.)? Are they somewhat public like corporations?

Answer.  While they do not provide maximum privacy, they certainly are far more private and protective than does the individual ownership of assets. Increased privacy is obtained by: (a) the avoidance of probate through a properly drafted and funded living trust upon the death of the former asset owner; and (b) possibly through the use of an LLC for the ownership of non-business assets in a state other than that of the individual's residence.
